Sign In Hi, My car is making a weird noise. It comes and goes but is most prevalent when I get off the highway and when I hit the gas. Here is the link to the audio file. You here it right at the beginning and at the 34 second mark. Sign In Noises are difficult to diagnose without actually being there to listen and attempt to pinpoint the noise. Does the noise happen when the car is in park and you rev the engine? Sounds like some type of transmission or final drive whine. Maybe swing into a local shop and have them take it for a ride. Sign In No it doesn't but someone said to put it in neutral when riding down the road to see if it continues and it does. He said that sort rules out the transmission. It happens when I hit the gas coming off the highway. If I take my foot off the gas it briefly goes away but comes back without putting my foot on the gas.
