I have a 2002 jeep cherokee laredo. I just notice this a couple days ago. My car makes a whinning sound almost like a siren. The sound is coming from somewhere around the front right tire or maybe under the hood, its fairly loud. It only occers when the car is in motion above 5mph and gets louder as i speed up. When i slow back down the noise gets quiter and stops whenever the car is stopped. its only been going on for a few days, whats wrong? if your need more info just ask, thanks.

Possibly brake or bearing problem. If you can jack up and spin the wheels you may find it. Sometimes these sounds are from the opposite side you think so compare both fronts unless it becomes obvious. Take a look at the brakes - are they down to a screech sensor? Those usually shut up when you are using the brake when they first start though. That sound is like a fingernail on a chaukboard, T
