I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand AM Sedan, and recently I noticed a fairly quiet light squeaking sound when I make a gradual left turn. It doesn't do it at higher speeds and I don't feel anything out of the ordinary.

Also, when at slow speeds it sounds as if my brakes are grinding. Again, it's not loud and doesn't do it at fast speeds, and not even always when going slow. My rotors look fine and are not grooved or anything like that, they are still very smooth. My car has been doing this for a long time.

I take that back. Sign In

I take that back, I just took it out again and it wasn't necessarily during a turn. It's my driver's side front wheel that just makes a quiet steady squeaking sound during driving @ approximately 20-30 mph.

Certainly check out the brakes. Some things that can do this are trim rings, hub caps, low tire pressure, nut covers etc. You could try rotating the wheels and see if the noise follows the wheel or stays in the same spot,
