91' GMC sierra fullcab about 140,000 miles. I have a tapping noise in the front passenger side by the feet. It could be the heater or something. Everytime I start it up and turn it off, it makes a tapping noise for about a minute. Please help. This really getting annoying.

Hmmm? You posted the same that the heat wasn't shutting off also in this truck. There is an electric actuator (I think) as the temp blend door on this and bet the gears are stripped and it's trying. See what you can do to put your hand right on it - may be remote nearby with levers or something - probably seen up under passenger's feet or thru glove box. A visual might clear up just what it doing wrong there if can possibly see it. I don't know of those as a common problem but it sure would explain both problems, T
