Just forwarded this post to the State Police. Confession in writing! You should feel grateful that the engine shut off before you killed yourself or someone's child. The conehead noise was probably coming from the driver. Hopefully, the transmission did go out, so it will keep you off the road for a while. I have no sympathy for people that blatantly disregard the safety of others.
