New to me in 2011 with 110,ooo miles an Acura Legend. Car had sat for a year maybe two in a garage. Owner passed. Worked on the home they inherited in trade for Legend but realized tranny needed rebuild. Automatic tranny works great but radio comes on and off with road conditions, worked fine previous to rebuild. If I slap the side of the console housing radio returns until the next pothole. My hand hurts! Neighbor helped me remove console housing and we could smack the bracket that holds the radio and it would work until moved or bumped. He thought the proplem was inside the radio unit and it was coincidental that problem surfaced after tranny rebuild. Love the transmisstion, the car rips down the highway when passing trucks on uphill grades. But I also love the upper dash tuner for the radio, makes life easy on five hour midnight drives home on two lane highways in No Cal. I'm a wood floor mechanic not an auto tech. Do I need a new system? Could a good tech connect a new keyless entry with alarm and XM sat. radio with the new radio and give me my dashboard feature too? Smile

Dashboard feature is only going to work with the factory unit. It sounds like the connector in back of the deck is loose. Pull the deck out far enough to see the plug on the back and play with it. Is it sloppy? Does it push in further if you try?
You can get XM installed in most anything, and many aftermarket decks are XM ready and will sound nice. I wouldn't bother even trying to put in keyless entry unless you like electrical gremlins and cars that don't start, especially in a car this old.
