Hey All,
I recently purchased a 1991 BMW E30 cabrio. Needed an alternator when I purchased it and battery was dead. got it home, replaced battery and alternator, runs great, but need to enter the radio code. Got code from 2 dealerships and still can not find a sequence that will unlock the radio. Tried battery disconnect, then entered code - nothing, waited 1 hour, nothing - waited 2 hours key in #2 position, nothing, unhooked leads at radio, nothing again. was told by bmw tech to touch both battery term end together to clear all capacitors...NADDA. WTF am I doing wrong? I would guess wrong code, but when 2 dealers give me the same number I am automatically throwing that out....anything else I could be missing??
