Year: 2005
Make: Ford
Model: F150 XLT Scab
Engine: 5.4L 3-Valve
Mileage: 198,000

I have a question about the 6-disc radio that I have in my 2005 F150. The radio part number is 6L3T18C815FE, which is a non-audiophile radio that plays MP3/WMA Cds. The problem that I am having is my original radio was the single disc unit which I replaced with a refurbished 6-disc unit, the original radio was much louder than the 6-disc unit. The question that I have is…. Is there a “pot” that can be adjusted on the board to turn the amplifier up? I know that when the radio is at half volume on my original radio you can barely hear other voices in the truck, the current 6-disc radio at half volume is so weak that you have to turn it to max loudness to equal half on the original. I hate to send the unit out and pay a fortune just to have them adjust a dial. I have replaced bulbs in many ford radios and have even taken them apart to retrieve jammed cds.

Any information that can be provided to assist in making this repair is greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same problem in my 2005 F150. I suspect that there must be some sort of pot in the radio rear but I can't find any info anywhere.
