My girls captiva suddenly lost all bass in the stereo. I Figure there is an factory amplifier but I have no clue where to find it. I have found the part online but don't know where it is in the car. If anyone has knows where to find it or if that is not the problem I would appreciate the help and advice. Thank You

My data base shows the Captiva only being available in the US until 2014. On that model the amp is built into the radio. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

So replacing the stereo is the only option?

If you're assuming the amp it the actual problem, yes. The smartest way would be an aftermarket stereo.

I am because there is still treble coming from all speakers just there is no bass. I checked the fuse for the amplifier as well and it is good.
