'83 GM 2700 cassette radio read wrong frequency

'83 GM 2700 cassette radio read wrong frequency Sign In

hi. my 1983 chevrolet caprice wagon, casset. radio GM 2700 read wrong freq. the channel on 97.0MHZ it showing 90.0MHZ.
i cannot lunch 90.0MHZ to 88.0MHZ channel.
from 103.0MHZ to 108.0MHZ no chanel at all.
i tear it down i check all main board wiring and components i couldn find any burn or broken things.
i check the movement between the the three big red coil and the needle index, its perfectly consistent.
what could be the problem?. please help.

Most automotive technicians, atleast the ones that I know, don't do solid state or radio repairs. Most of the time we sub those out or tell the customer to have an aftermarket radio installed if they can't afford the factory replacement.

If you really want to fix something like that, you need to have an electronics repair shop check it out. You'll probably end up spending more money to have it repaired than installing an aftermarket unit.

There are companies that make digital stereos that look like the old nostalgic ones.

after trying to wake up from my miss firing nightmare. and having a financial problem. i bought a pioneer 1550ub cd player. its the best quality and price i found it about 90$ new made in thailand. its annoying watch this stupid led radio in your face. i try to get the original one but i couldn find one. i hope i get one when i came to america.
