95 Civic Radio/Tape Deck Problems

Hey, so I put a tape adapter into my tape deck so I could listen to my ipod, and then the adapter wire got screwed up, so it stopped working, but the tape was stuck in my tape deck (it was really hard to put get the tape into the tape deck in the first place; my friend just kinda shoved it)! The radio worked before the tape went in, but once the tape was in I couldn't put it on radio mode, and I figured you just couldn't while there was a tape in there. So I pulled the tape out with a pair of needle nose pliers (it was really, really stuck), and now the radio still doesn't work, and I don't want to put another tape in. Any thoughts? Thank you! Hey Mate, In most cases the term "if it don't fit, find a bigger hammer" does not apply. I think you have done some serious damage to the internals of your stereo. The reason the radio is not working is, your stereo still thinks there is a tape in the player. As it did not register an ejection. I would suggest replacing the unit. I am sorry there is no DIY way to fix this one.
