My amp in my 95 geo prizm keeps shutting off and its brand new so i know thats not the problem. Im running 4 kicker cvr 12's and a 4000 watt power acoustic amp which perfect i was told for those subs. I had someone professionaly re wire the subs all right the way they should be. But anywayz my problem is i was told that the reason that it is shutting off on me after a few minutes of play is that my alternator is to small to be pushing that much power and that i should get another battery for the trunk for it to sound louder and run smoother and better. is this a good solution? Im also running an indash dvd player which im sure is pulling power. every time the bass hits my all my lights dim down low.any questions you need to know just ask and i will try to help.

WITH A 4000 WT AMP, YOU DEFINATLEY NEED ANOTHER BATTERY IN YOUR TRUNK, WHICH YOU WILL HAVE TO RUN OFF YOUR ALTERNATOR, TRICKY, BUT IT CAN BE DONE, GO TO A PROFESSIONAL AND HAVE THEM DO IT, YOU COULD BURN YOUR CAR DOWN IF YOUR NOT CAREFUL.

Save your self a lot of money by taking that stereo and throwing it into a lake. You don't have enough battery to run it and you don't have enough alternator to run it so cut your losses now and get a normal stereo before you fry the whole car. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

>>taking that stereo and throwing it into a lake<< LOL. The guy is probably deaf by now. He may not be able to hear you. Every time I hear one of those 'thumpers', I'd like to drive them into the same lake. Loren SW Washington

well thats for the advice and also hating on my stereo...lol. Its a hobby I like to do on the side. i dont know way but since i was like 14 ive always liked going to bass competitions. that was my anti-drug lol. but i figured out the problem. the person before me wired the subs wrong and had them running at 1/2 an ohm. and i added a capacitor that way it doesnt draw power at one heavy time and make the light dim and drain power of my car. everything is running fine now. but thanks to the advisers and the haters! lol j/k on the haters. trust me i piss my neighbor off all the time with it enough that im sure yall are hating me now.lol

adio; Glad to, uh, hear that you have a sense of humor. We can 'hook' you up with a really good hearing aid specialist once you reach 30. You'll need one. LOL. I like bass as well as the next guy, but you need to learn to respect others. Turn it down when near others. My kids would come home and I could hear them coming three blocks away. I reamed them. TURN IT DOWN. Just common courtesy. Not everyone is impressed with the thumping. Glad that you got it figured out, though. Loren SW Washington
