As i shifted it down i noticed that there was no light on my display. Cd player reads the disc, is lets out sound, thebuttons work on the display. Only thing that i dont have is the light in it. I wanted to adjust my equilizer, or turn on my cd text, but nothing is showin. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I am wondering if one of the wires in the back are loose, and when you shifted it did it cause one of them to move a bit.

Can the problem be fixed if the wires are tightened? I am afraid that the possibility of my faceplate being burnt has occurred. Can that happen?

I tightened the wires by reconnecting them and the cd player is still in the same condition.

The wires will have nothing to do with the display if the head unit is operating, the problem would be a connection on the inside, and unless you know what you're doing, you're better off getting a new head unit.
