CD player not reading the disks anymore Sign In

2003 Toyota Camry;
My CD player is not reading the disks anymore. It will take the disk and a few seconds later it will send it back to me. I've seen online where others have had this problem, but no solutions. The situation presented itself about three weeks ago but prior to that it had been pausing while a song played from time to time. I've also tried to use one of the cleaning disks, but it sends it back as well. HELP PLEASE!!

More then likely laser is pooched.. You can take the stereo out and pull the cover off sometime people put cd with stickers on them and sticker fall off inside and jam the track. take compressed air and blow laser sometimes dirt gets stuck in the laser and stops it from moving up and down..

Make sure you don't have to enter security code to unlock stereo.. look in the owners manual .. some vechicals it will disable the vechical till the code is entered.

Thanks,

I wish I had gotten the suggestion sooner. I took it to Toyota and they said it would cost around $450 to replace. I had a new system put in @ Best Buy for $220 total!! Don't go to the dealership for this type stuff, they will take you for more than is required!!

Thanks for your help Zmame
