Changing an 02 f150 head unit Sign In

So I got a stock 02 f150 head unit that im changing out with a Pioneer head unit, I looked up wiring diagrams for both and that got about 90% of the job done but something is wrong because I have the right power wires connected but there are 3 ground wires from the stock head unit, 2 wires are black with a green stripe and one is solid black, not sure if I should connect them all together or just connect one to the new head unit and caap the rest but the new head unit won't turn on at all so either something with the power wire is messed up or I just need to do something with these grounds, any help would be appriciated

A guess you are replacing the radio/audio unit in your truck.
A little late - that is ill advised. Keep it simple keep it stock.
Many components communicate and removing one will cause issues*- YES there are work arounds professional installers have the schematics for that.
Hopefully a colleague is able to get a wiring diagram for truck and radio and advise. Gone are the days of easy audio install. Do you have th pioneer wiring diagram?
* could cause the CEL ON, a PATS issue or a "U' series code.

They make plug and play kits to install these. NEVER cut any wires.

Totally ditto - get the adaptor/interface that cuts nothing and plugs exactly into vehicle's existing wiring for particular brand unit. This isn't my game but know they make exact stuff to make it all compatible or AYOR at what wont work or be harmed,

Why not DS? A car thief would never mess with that truck! Even they know better, T

A car thief might be laughing their arse off as they are unplugging the unit and making a quick getaway.

Gotta be careful with some of those DIY radio installs if you own an expensive scan tool. Heard of a VW or Audi that cooked a shop's scanner because the K line got shorted to 12 volt power from an aftermarket radio install. Some of these vehicles have radios that are on the communication bus, so beware. Most of the time I see an aftermarket radio install on a vehicle who's radio is part of a network, I'll plug in my cheap code reader first. I'm sure it isn't fun seeing your $10K scan tool going up in smoke.

I got the radio working and I'm wiring my sub up, should I run the power to the amp straight from the battery or could it run off the starter solenoid

I believe the best place to get power is off the fender mounted solenoid on the battery cable side, of course. The reason is because battery terminals tend to corrode from acids. You won't have that issue with your amp's power feed terminal at the starter solenoid. Just make sure you have an appropriate sized fuse installed.
