HELP!! Did the repair shop fry my headunit?? Sign In

i have a JVC KW-AVX810 head unit (double din 7" touch screen, removable faceplate), installed in a 1998 Lexus ES300.
Iv had this unit a few years now and installed it myself. The unit has always worked without any issues.

I put the car in a local repair shop to get the valve cover gasket, timing belt, etc. changed.
When i picked it up the HU screen wouldn't turn on. The power button lights up(as it would when the HU is powered off). When i push the reset button and i can hear the head unit make noise. but the HU doesn't turn on.

i contacted the mechanic and all he said he did was power off the unit by holding down the power/att button.

so far i checked the fuses in my car and the one on the back of the HU. i also wired the HU directly to a battery which gave same result.

could there b a fuse inside the head unit?
Or Is my head unit fryed?

Any advise what to troubleshoot next would be greatly Appreciated!!
Also any info on what could have caused this to happen would be helpful

Not exactly sure how that is wired, but most radios have one ignition power circuit (hot when key is on), battery (memory hot all the time) power circuit, and a ground. If it has all those things and still doesn't light up, either the unit is faulty or there is some type of control on the unit that has been disabled.
