No Power to Stearo Sign In

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6. Recently I have no working working steareo. One day it was working just fine than the next day their was absolutely no power going to the it. This is a factory steareo, I have checked the main fuses going around the car. the only thing left that i haven't checked for was going in behind the dash to check the wiring and or the fuse in the back of the steareo. Besides the things i haven't checked for is their any other explaination.

Re: No Power to Stearo Sign In

Re: No Power to Stearo Sign In

Theres more then one way to test it and see if its in the cd player or not. You can always take the cd player out and test it if the fuse thing fails. Take it out and use a jumper box as power. Put the hot(red) wire and black(ground) and put it to the cables color to color obviously. If your cd player comes on then its in your wiring if no fuses are blown. You can always run your power seperate if the radio fuse spot isnt working properly. Simply run a red wire(hot wire) to the power accessories spot in your fuse box and put a fuse in to keep it in place and make sure it is hooked up to the red wire coming from your wiring harness out the back of ur stereo. This will run a new power to your stereo and you can always run new speaker wire straight from your wiring harness. But you will need a ground as well so run a ground to a good spot like a seat bolt and tighten the bolt down on the ground. There are always ways to fix stereo problems. First check fuses then resort to testing the cd player itself without using the wiring harness that you plug your stereo wiring harness into. Hope this helps.
