Odd behavior from GM CD Changer

The CD changer in my 2002 Olds Silhouette has begin acting oddly. The problems began when it locked up, showing Track 2 on the screen but not allowing me to insert, eject, or play a CD. I cured this by pulling and reinserting the fuse. Now when I turn it on, it shows all 6 CD slots as being filled even when this is not the case. And it goes back to the beginning of whatever track is playing - from the internal sounds of the player, I suspect it is either cycling through all the CD bays or pulling the CD back into its bay and then moving it back to the lens. Any suggestions?

Try leaving the fuse out for a day or so to see if that makes a difference. If it's still acting up, call around to some electronic repair shops to see if they are familiar with the problem and maybe ballpark price on cleaning/repair?

Yes this radio ( cd player ) definatly needs repair, there is a switch inside the unit that gives a lot of trouble. Locate a reputable repair center for repair. GM has dropped the number of authorized service centers to about four across the country, New York, Texas, California and one other I think. Your GM dealer scary as it is may be your best bet. Just make sure they send it to an authorized repair center.
