Hello, I have a Pioneer car stereo, It has been shutting off and on as I drive on rough roads, (the power completely shuts off). It is normally in use with Ipod, but it does this in radio or cd mode as well.

I was told by someone it is because the face has gotten lose or there is a bad connection there. How can I confirm this and is it fixable?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Well the advise you got sounds about right. A check quick you could try is get it on a bumpy road or parking lot where there is no traffic and hold the face plate on as tight as you can and hit some bumps to see if that helps keep the power on. If it does then you are probably looking at a loose face plate.

If not then maybe R&R the deck and check the power & ground connections....

if it is a bad face connection, you should be able to make it shut on and off by simply moving the face around while sitting still. if you drive over dusty roads a lot you can try cleaning the contacts of the face and subpanel with qtips and rubbing alcohol. a pencil eraser might work also.
