Re: '05 Yukon - no sound from speakers (stock) Sign In

I have a 2005 GMC Yukon SLT w/68,000 miles. It has the stock Bose audio system, front speakers only (Rear audio/entertainment via headphones). No aftermarket components, wiring, amp, etc. No weather-related or extenuating circumstances. There have not been any previous electrical or radio issues.

About 2 months ago, the radio volume level suddenly dipped while I was adjusting it. I could have the indicator show it was maxed, however the audio would not go above a level '3' out of '10'. I could freely turn the knob and see the volume level adjust as expected so there was no issue with the knob or level adjustment itself.

Last week, the audio totally went and now there is nothing audible. No radio or integrated door chimes, nothing comes out of the speakers. I checked the amp, radio and related fuses and they are good. It is highly unlikley that both speakers went out in this progressive fashion so I have eliminated them also. I changed the battery as it was approaching 6 years, thinking that perhaps that was an issue there, which I had seen in a couple of posts. No luck.

It would seem to be an amp or wiring issue? What is the best way to further pinpoint? Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks.
