Serious car radio Sign In

Hello. I just bought a 2010 Ford F 150 yesterday. Since the radio had a Serious button I mistakenly thought it was Serious ready. Turns out the dealer tells me I need a Serious module which will cost $400.00 plus instalation!!!! I am wondering if I can buy it cheaper online somewhere and then install it myself? And then if so how do I know exactly what I need to look for? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Serious car radio Sign In

does you truck already have the antenna on the roof of the truck?? I know the rangers used a seperate module, but i'm pretty sure the 150's had the sirius built into the radio.

No additional antenna, just the regular radio version. Why do you ask that?

Re: Serious car radio Sign In

If you don't have that antanna there is alot of work to make it sirius ready with ford equipment.. Your cheapest option would to buy a sirius reciver, think they run about $100.. comes with everything you need to hook up sat radio to factory deck.

To hook up factory one you either need module or new radio,
route wiring for antanna
remove head liner drill hole for antanna.

Would take some time.

No chance that the radio is already hooked up to the antenna for Sirious? I didn't know if I needed an additional antenna or not. Hoped it would be hooked to the antenna. Curious, do you know if a Ford comes from the factory equipped with Sirius does it still need the additional external antenna?

I highy doubt it, but if you want to be sure you can pull out the radio and look at the back there should be almost coaxal looking connector, the connector will be yellow in color.
