Unlocking 2000 GM Radio Sign In

I am trying to unlock a replacement radio I purchased from a salvage yard. The car is a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville and the radio is AM/FM/CD no EQ. (Option code U1P) I have searched and read tons of other forums that have processes of holding preset 2&3 or 1&4 to get the factory codes but when I do this nothing happens. Anyone that can lend a hand please let me know.

Your best bet is to get the serial number from the unit and call GM directly. They will have the individual codes on file.

Push the hour botton...what does it say? If it says InoP then you will need to drive the car for 1 straight hour before it will let you get any codes. If it just says LOC you should be able to push the 2 and 3 button or 4 and 5 to get the codes. If you do get your 4 or 6 digit code I you will need to write it down and call 1-800-537-5140 after the prompts ens enter the code you wrote down and push # then enter it again, go to the car put it in the on position hit the hour button and enter the first 2 numbers then hit the min. button enter the last 2 then hit am/fm. Hope this helps you it took me 2 weeks to get this figured out.
