Hello everyone. I'm installing front door speakers and came across weird screws installed on my speakers. I took some pictures. If someone can assist. https://ibb.co/fn8H9Q https://ibb.co/dD08G5

Those appear to be rivets, not screws. Feel around the back to see what is behind there. I tried to make them appear here but it didn't work ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The front end of a door is behind it. There's no way I can remove this huh?

They look like rivets to me too. You may only have room to just drill those out to replace speakers a lot better if replacement is exact pattern or you'll get in trouble with room. If not familiar with using rivets practice on some metal when you have the tool and assortment or right sizes on hand or you aren't ready for this, T (edit) Know what's behind it so when drilled out you don't wipe out wiring or other things and make a nightmare out of this.....

So basically drill and make sure not to hit any wires. I wonder if I can replace it with screws instead after.

You haven't said what this car is or why speakers need replace just asked about the "head of the fastener" for the topic. Screws that are self tapping usually go into plastic blocks already in the metal of the door for re-use would be an obvious something. Chances are this was to assemble the car faster not just screws that are threaded to a threaded nut or hole to receive them. You need to know how to remove a rivet. You use a larger bit drill and just take it down just enough without harming the hole in metal of the door and push the back side thru which will fall into the door. If you drilled right thru such that the bit went inside there's no telling what the drill might harm then the hole may not be the right size. In short - learn on scrap metal with a known hole (say 1/8th inch) drill a hole and put a rivet in scrap and remove it without harming the hole. If you fail do that on a scrap not the car! If you really don't have the tools or understand just this either learn it or get help with the project up to sending it out and save all the aggravation and cost of tools, T

I have never seen a car without removable speakers. There has to be another way to removed the speakers. That picture look like a plastic housing that the speakers would be attached to. Look around. there should be another way to remove the speakers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Neither have I Hammer but always surprised too? I need that hole to reach other stuff as said above. For all I know without knowing this thing it's just a press in fit no fasteners at all and don't touch the rest it's one piece? T

The picture show a plastic housing attached to the door frame. I'm guessing that speaker separates elsewhere. Too bad he left us in the dark on what kind of car this is. We might have been able to help.
