The sky is the limit with this one. Competition style systems can run into the 10's of thousands. It all depend on what music you listen to, what functions you want and what you use it for. Let me know if a PM these things:

1. What music you most frequently listen to
2. How much your willing to spend
3. Do you want MP3 & Ipod capabilities

I can give you advice on what to buy once I know this.

Rap & Rock are 2 WAY different types of sound. I would suggest Kenwood 4 way 7x10 Speakers for the rear, pioneer 3 or 4 ways 8" rounds for front. No amps or subs, and whatever headunit you desire to keep costs down. As long as you have a decent speakers you will be ok.
