I recently got a2007 dodge ram 1500 and took the radio out of my 2004 Dakota the wire harness is used on both trucks so I just swapped them but it didn't power on so I bought a new wire harness just to make sure and the same thing it wont power on so I put it back in the Dakota and it powers rite on and I put the factory radio back in the ram and it powers rite on.. what am I missing here

I think the problem is on the wire harness I bought actually both of them there is one wire in a different location the ignition wire.. I tried moving the pin in the harness but it doesn't fit in the spot it should be in

You may need to make sure the radio is grounded, not all chryslers are grounded through the wired harness. Many are grounded through a separate ground wire.

ok I will try to ground it but I just found something out I didn't notice before.. when I put the rams factory stereo in the Dakota it powers rite on even with the ignition I think the harness is not the same even though it should be ...UPDATE just tried grounding still nothing
