I've been having a few issues that would seem to be electrical in nature. I'll list them and eventhough they may or may not seem related, all of them started after I got hit in the rear (this could obviously just be coincidence too). The only damage seemed to be a broken tail lamp and housing (which was replaced). The problems are:

1. Whenever I accelerate, the "brake", "trac off" and "Low Brake Fluid" warning from the message center all come on. Sometimes when i lift off the accelerator, the brake and fluid warning goes away...other times i need to depress the brake to have them shut off. If I accelerate again, they come back on. The "trac off" light remains on after the initial lighting.

2. My directional lights occassionally fail to work. However, I can get them to work by tapping the hazard switch (i assume this may just be a faulty hazard switch, but wanted to throw it out there as well)

3. Occassionally, when i turn the key, nothing happens. If I hold the key turned, the engine eventually turns on..althought this may take upwards of 30 seconds. When the engine turns..it's very quick to start. I've had the keyswitch replaced but that didnt fix the problem. I've tried shifting into neutral and starting but that also fails some of the time. It seems to come and go as I may not experience the problem for weeks ..and then it'll happen 4 or 5 times in a row.

4. This one only happened once, but i'll mention it just in case it's related. I have an xm radio receiver. One time while driving, i plugged it into the power port (lighter) and the engine completely cut out. I unplugged it... pulled over... restarted the engine no problem, tried it again as a test and the car started to cut out...i unplugged and left it out for a week... Since then i use the radio every day and havent had it reoccur at all.

I should also mention that this vehichle has over 200,000 miles on it...albeit they are primarily highway miles and the engine runs well and gets good mileage still. The car also had a problem with transmissions early on (replaced 1 at 67,000 miles and again at 93,000 miles). I'm not a brutal driver and again it's mostly highway miles. Is it possible that a faulty computer could cause all this mayhem including transmission failure?

Thanks for taking the time to read my novel.. any information is greatly appreciated

Tom
