02 chev van brake light

hey hey, been a while since ive popped in, having a problem with the lights on an 02 chev express van. the left brake light is dim when the pedal is pressed. then if you have the headlights on when you press the pedal the brake light goes out and if you have the lights on the brake pedal pressed and put the left turn signal on it blows out the turn signal bulb. the turn signal works fine as long as the parking lights or headlights are not on. i'm stumped. I went over all the lights and they are good, I looked for a kinked or pinched wire and didn't find any???? where should I start with this???? all bulbs are good all the way around any ideas

Sounds like you have a bad ground at that light. It could be right in the socket itself or further down the ground circuit.

hmmmm sounds good. seems like it may have gotten brighter when I jiggled it around ( the brake light that is) now it could have just been me but I will look into it now will let ya know how it turns out, thanks
Edit: Just went out and looked at it and you are right it was a ground problem in the socket it's working good now but I will have to replace that socket to be sure it doesn't happen again. Thats why that cop was following me last night. good to know. thanks again it works now with the lights on the turnsignal on and the brake pedal pressed.... win
