Have a 05 Scion xb that no matter what I've tried (change bulb, New fuses, New connector, replacing all wires, even switching which side the housing was connected to just to see if it's bad wiring on that) nothing has worked....any ideas?

? One side, one bulb doesn't light? Do you have a test light to test if power and ground get to it? What wires did you replace and why? T

Wow, you did all that work and didn't even test the circuit using a volt meter or test lamp to see what was going on? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Sorry that was supposed to say resplice not replace...and they were the ground which looked damaged and the wire that carries for the tail light...though that was with a connector pulled from an xb in a junk yard

Which side tail light is out? Your going to need to take some voltage measurements to see where the problem is in the circuit. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Do you have a volt meter or test lamp? Does this have any modifications such as trailer wiring? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

It appeared that the previous owners did do some wiring mod but no I don't have a volt tester or anything along those lines

! You aren't going to get far finding the problem without basic tools. Voltmeter, test light and probably some jumper lead to use as overlays. Total $20 for cheap stuff. Why bother if you can't test anything? T

I would be definitely inspecting the wiring mod. Most the time you can see what is wrong visually. The tail lamp circuit is a green wire for power and white/black wire as the ground path. If you see taped up wires, scotch locks, or other splices that don't look factory, you need to investigate those areas. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
