Hello everyone. First time poster, here. I've inherited my late grandfather's car. He bought it brand new. My father remembers them driving it home from the dealership. It currently has 43k miles on it. I love it. I keep it garaged, but it definitely sees the road more than he would take it out.

I've been chasing what I believe is a ground issue. So any input will help with the aggravation.

When I put the right turn signal on, the high beam indicator in the dash lights up. If I click the high beam foot-button, the right turn signal indicator glows.

I've put 4 new bulbs in the turn signal, a new light switch/dimmer, and (unrelated but hoping there was some relation) a new ignition ballast (old one was cracked inside but still making connection), I added a ground from battery to engine bay, and a ground from the back of the cluster to firewall. Same problem.

My next plan of attack would be to ground each turn signal and headlight.

Can anyone chime in with some possibilities? Thanks!

The grounds you should be checking are the ones for the external lights.

I'll be some garage time once the family goes to bed. I'll report asap. Thank you.

Do use "bulb grease" on bulbs and connections both water proof and should be dielectric same as silicone grease.

Suggestions: Have a spare ballast - they were frightfully common - the porcelain ones on firewall.
Headlight dimmer floor switch changes this noted? Take it out as it just lag bolts (I think) then plugs in unseen and the button can't be lubed while installed. Car could be super clean but it's the floor so takes a hit if only some road water nicer day driven.

Other for real Mopars: Dash lighting seem to me to bleed light one item to another more than usual. Later full size the lighting for dash to just illuminate was light pointed at it not from behind worked just found odd at first, some funky reflections. I think later than this but not that much newer,

HT hit the nail on the head on that one......You have a bad ground on the R turn/park light circuit and when you use the turn signal it's using the circuit for the high beam indicator to complete the circuit, which will make the bulb illuminate.....More than likely the R bulbs are probably dimmer than the L side when in use
