Is the replacement alternator of the proper amperage (output) for this car’s accessory options? Back then there were three or four different alt’s that all looked the same and would bolt up. But internally the windings were different; more windings more amperage output. What rpm are you testing this at; it should be at a minimum of 1500 rpm. If at 1500 rpm, with all accessories on and the voltage is above 12.5 you should be ok? Last thing, have the battery tested; if the battery is beginning to sulphate, it may not except a “full” charge and make the alternator seem week. I’ve seen many batteries be the cause of an alternator failure. The alternator is constantly running full tilt, trying to get the battery voltage to stabilize. Dan. Canadian "EH"
