1988 Chevy C3500 Silverado 454 Power Winndows

|
Power Windows and Door Locks not working. It has 12 volts @ all switches and @ window motor. They still will not work on either side. I can jump motor from a battery jumper box and works both directions, up / down.
Where do I look from here for the problem?
It is getting power, so ...... help!

You must mean lock motor/actuator not window motor is different motor.
The "common" list includes lack of ground which is reversing polarity to motors like this may not be grounded likely from driver's door jam? Reverse power to a test light shows if it light up when ground is found and on. For switches on doors wiggle wires in snorkel of door jam and or pull for a wire that's possibly intact but broken inside insulation hard to see by eye.
Sometimes when both it's a relay at fault some GMs use different contacts inside relay for up or down request or don't deliver enough power thru them for a motor but will make a test light work!
Trucks! Assorted set ups may also use a "lock out" switch disables passenger's side or rear if applicable to use power things didn't think locks?

Make sure you have ground on the black wires at the driver's master switch. The door locks and windows share the same ground.

I have found power at window with a multimeter, hot wire and door rivet. However, using the hot wire and any other wire- not finding power. So i am guessing that there is a break in the ground somewhere?
How do I find where the break is, if in the jamb, or elsewhere?

it is only making sense then that it is the ground- because windows / locks all quit working. Just need some tips on how to narrow it down without probing too many
spots.

It comes by wire as it doesn't count on a moving door hinge's metal. IDK - before going too nuts try adding ground from like the door striker bolt where it latches to a good spot on door metal see if things work just might that would verify it to me.
From kick panel inside or inside door follow the ground wire already mentioned should feed all was said. Just tug on them a little one by one and see if the one pulls right out or is stretch the wire broke and insulation may be holding only. You can either pull back that rubber snorkel and look for the spot in the middle where they bend inside decide if sure to splice it there or run a new automotive grade wire of same gauge thru from inside can fish one thru so 2 splices out of the way of where they all bend.
This was somewhat common to me IDK why, GMs driver's doors right there. Another may come along later I can't say for sure. The ones I did vehicles were not so great such that owners wanted to go totally nuts with trying to find all new stuff so never pursued that. Trucks even this old may have a door wiring harness totally but can just smell some issues with finding whole stuff exact as trucks came with different options in that era more than most. Bare minimum to beginning of making trucks luxo trucks, fancy stuff showing up available or part of a package of extra powered options. Check for vintage truck parts if you wish see what you find. I wouldn't bother with used as it's probably worse than what you already have both old alone wires quit liking bending.
I'll keep it as concise as I can but if this do the splices properly soldered, shrink wrapped best not where it bends. Sorry - I'm stuck on this as I did so many at 1/2 this age all cars by chance all GMs and all driver's door that was used most only taxi vehicles would another be used more than driver's door I would think?
