Yesterday my tachometer (OEM) started acting up. The RPM is much higher than normal. Auto transmission shifts normally even in overdrive. I have a Haynes Manual and cannot find out where you pick up the signal. I know it goes through the PCM and some use the distributor as a source. Anyone know exactly where the signal source comes from?

The PCM uses the same reference signal that it uses to run the engine with. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
