Have a 1993 Dodge Intrepid with about 100,000 miles on 3.3 motor. This morning went out to start it for work and the ignition switch wont stay on the "run" position. Slips back and shuts the engine off. I restarted the car and slowly and gently turned the key back from the "start" position to the "run' position but if you barely touch the key, it springs back and shut the engine off. I bought a new ignition clyinder with keys at Autozone. I have pulled the old ignition clyinder out but the new one will not go in because the internal part that the clyinder mates into needs to be in the "run" position and it will not stay(keeps springing back). The clyinder is probally not the proble anyway. Seems to be in the piece that the ignition clyinder mates into. Any help would be appreciated

You'll probably have to replace the ignition switch, as well. Fairly common failure. Loren SW Washington
