Hi, I have a 1993 Nissan Sentra with around 159.000 miles on him. It started one night when I suddenly lost my blinkers. They worked fine one minute and then not the next. The next morning when I went out to go home from work they were working fine, however later that afternoon when my bf was driving home from work the temperature gauge went straight up and the car lost all power. We had it towed home and then we who know nothing about cars practically lifted the hood and tried to figure it out. He wiggled some wires and such. Nothing, we did discover however if we had the steering wheel turned to the left it seemed to want to start. also all the dash board lights were clicking on and off . The next day I tried starting it and it started right up. It then worked fine for another week or so. Then lo and behold coming home from dinner one night the same thing happened we lost all power and it just died. Conveniently this time near an auto repair shop. We had the owner look at it the next day and of course it worked fine for him, so he suggested that from the clicking lights in the dash and the clicking noises he thought it may be the fuel pump relay. So we drove the car home and purchased the part. That night when I was waiting for a ride home the car decided to just lose power again so the BF installed the new part and it still did nothing. This was three days ago, now it only seems to want to start if the headlights are on and as soon as you open the door the dashboard lights start their blinking show. Any Clues anyone?? we only paid 300 bucks for this car and don't want to spend a lot of money on him if we can help it.

sounds like a short. check all your wiring , what you can see and get to for any abrasions to the insulation. or if any of it has deteriorated for some reason. check all the fuses as well. other than that i can't say.
