Can anyone tell me if I can switch power window motors from one side to the other? My drivers side is not working (i already bought a new switch, which is fine..the door locks work and the window(s) lock and the passenger window works) however, the drivers side does not. Can I switch the passenger window motor to the driver side? A new motor is going to run around 400.00 on-line, so I can only imagine what the dealer is going to charge me. I don't need the passenger window so much anyway. Please help!!

The part numbers are different, so I assume the direction of the mounting is different. They do not make any thing easy. You might try a salvage yard.

Arggh! - I think this is a motor and the whole regulator as an assembly deal. The exact electric motor is probably the same but you'll end up with two that don't work and a lot of hair loss.

Things are no doubt rivoted and looked like a cable deal similar to a garage door - what fun!

Check out salvage parts as w2o suggested and lube the thing up real good where possible so it lasts. $400 is too much for my blood for a window motor!
