1997 Blazer won't start

This Blazer is equipped with an ignition delay (turn key to "on" position and in 3-5 seconds it beeps and then it will crank, if you do not wait for the delay beep it sounds like a dead battery with one single click). It has had no prior starting problems until today when it will not give the delay signal beep and so will not start. The battery checks out at full power. Has any body had this problem and how to fix. Thanks.

Whatever this "delay" thing is or not the GM side post battery terminals are a trouble spot. Make sure they look good and clean. Feeling tight isn't enough, you need to know. Single click and then nothings are freqently battery cable problems and could be at either end of them. When they are a complete issue for the "start" attempt lights may go out and pre-sets may be lost. Could be a starter issue or this device I'm not familiar with but I'd begin with the connections, T
