I have a 1998 nissan pathfinder that I'm having a weird issue with. I had it sitting for awhile as I recently bought a new truck so I didn't need it for anything. I decided to sell it for some extra cash as I recently got laid off. I boosted it with a small battery boosting unit and moved it into my garage. I connected my actual battery charger on a two amp charge. I came back about an hour later and my charger was telling me bad battery. So I testing the battery and it was definitely bad. I bought a new battery and connected it. The vehicle immediately went into panic mode. So I pulled the panic horn fuse and tried troubleshooting. I tried disabling it by turning the drivers key 5 times and starting it and that did nothing. I removed the the aftermarket command start and security system but that didn't help. I tried locking all the doors and taping the hood switch before connecting the battery and trying to disable panic mode but that did nothing. Every time I connect the battery it goes into panic mode. With the old battery it worked fine and the new battery goes into panic mode, I don't understand this. I should note that the entire time I've owned the vehicle the alarm system has went off whenever I unlocked the drivers door with the key. But it has never went into full on panic mode and has always been fixed by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. I'm really hitting a wall here and could use some help.

It's not in panic mode. It's simply armed and triggered.

It happens whenever the power is interrupted. Try having the key on when you connect the battery.

If you have a clicker you should be able to shut it off with that.

Does this vehicle have the security indicator lamp? If so, what is it doing? You stated you started the vehicle? If the factory alarm system is triggered, the starting system is disabled. If you can get the vehicle to start with an alarm going off, it isn't the factory alarm system causing that.

I don't recall the factory alarm system going off if you disconnect the battery. Disconnecting and reconnecting a battery on an aftermarket alarm system will often times cause it to activate.
