I have had this intermittent problem for over 2 years and spent a couple of thousand already. It acts like it`s missing, does it at all speeds, idling etc.Sometimes will act up all day, sometimes not for days or weeks.I have had the coils swapped/changed,injectors swapped/changed,recently had spark plugs and coils upgraded. The consensus seems to be it`s in the wiring harness but no one can say for sure.Any other ideas out there? Thanks.

The are 2 TSBs that could pertain to your problem. ITB01-053 & ITB98-006B. One involves breaking wires in the wiring harness by the right strut tower.... I would check the TSBs out 1st, if that checks out ok. Then the circuits involving the misfires are going to have voltage drop tests run on them while the problem is occuring. Personally I would probably be looking at the ground side of the coil circuit to start with & given the intermitten nature of the problem probably be looking read close at the tension of the connector pins...... You are probably going to have to find a shop that is trained & tooled for this kind of work. You can talk to neighbors, family & friends, see where they go. Go to ase.com & use their shop locator. Call around. I would probably give them the same background as you did here telling them what you've done, stopping short of telling them how to do the diag..... keep in mind the best shop for this job isn't going the be the cheapest one........ Proper tools & training is expensive but sometimes in the long run can wind up being cheaper......... Once you do find the problem, please post back you results, you could help out somebody else with the same problem......and I would also like to know

Thanks for the reply.I`ll give it to my mechanic but I think that is where he`s checked.Part of the problem is getting it to mess up in the shop.My car knows when I`m taking it in and fixes itself
