2000 Dodge Dakota v6 with 75,000 miles For the past few weeks the truck would not start on the first turn of the key but would fire right up the second time. Today I just got a click sound and everything went dark. No horn, door bells, lights, nothing. Any idea where I should start my investigation? I looked at all fuses and found none of them burned out. Thanks for the help Keith

Sounds like a bad connection.....Get the battery tested & clean the cables & terminals to start with....

This is the first thing I did. Battery is less than 3 months old also. Any chance it could be the starter. It would always take two turns before it would start.

Turning the key and just getting a click and then after a few more turns it starts by itself could be a starter but you don't lose everything, just the starter won't engage..... When you lose everything when you turn the key, usually it's a connection problem, either at the battery or block. If you've removed the cables & cleaned them & the battery terminals then check down at the block. If you've just "looked" at it & it "looks good",,,,,, take the terminals off & clean them & the battery........ Also before you get too deep, get the battery load tested, just because it's only 3 months old doesn't mean anything.
