Just recently my car battery completely died, no signs of weakness or anything, it just died. So, I go and I replace the battery hoping that there's nothing wrong with the alternator... still no fix, the battery light continues to come on as I'm driving it. I take it to auto zone and they run a test on the battery and the alternator, and determine that the alternator is bad. So I put in a new alternator... ok, it still doesn't work. Then I come to find out that the ground contact on the negative cable was never attached to the bolt it was meant for, so I reattach that. Now, it seems to be getting somewhat of a charge as it's driven but really only at higher rpms. And, despite that, I still notice that the battery is losing power. I don't understand what else it might be, and I'm planning to take it to a mechanic but should anyone know what the problem may be, and if it's a "do-it-yourself" fix I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!
