2000 grand am not charging

3.4. neighbor went on a beer run, wife mentioned smell of wire burning. Met him at Kroger 30 miles away, took starter off, went to rebuilder with it. Was fine. Jumped it and fired right up. Drove it to rebuilder took alternator off and they repaired it. Not charging now. Took alt. back off, to rebuilder again and states it tested fine. We watched the meters as it ran. With key on, engine running, test light at terminal on back of alternator, no power. Could not find any blown fuses under hood or inside car. Looking for fusible link burnt or inline fuse. Nothing yet. Thanks again guys. bill

Did you check the fusible link at the starter solenoid? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

DS-you nailed it. Up on the lift, I looked behind the solenoid and seen part of the green fusible link. Still intact. He missed putting it back on while laying on the ground at Krogers. Took all of 5 minuets to fix. Thanks DS!
