2002 Subaru Outback Headlight Wiring

Tried replacing the bulb, light still won't come on. Took to a mechanic and he thinks it may be the wiring. We have an appt tomorrow but I've no idea what wiring may cost. If someone could give me a ballpark estimate I'd greatly appreciate it.

Anywhere from $20 to $2000. The problem has to be found before you have any idea of cost.
