I am having a intermittent electrical problem, engine runs good no driveability problems, every otherday when I turn engine off the headlights will not shut off,the trunk opens, doorlocks lock and unlock, domelight will not work, dash gauges will not come on except for fuel gauge,I can hear noise coming from stereo speakers, starter will not engage, red security light in radio flashes(have security system turned off).
here is what I have done...the first time I checked the voltage in the battery it was low 5 volts and I charged the battery for 5 hours and it started and ran fine for two days, then second time I checked volts in battery it was low again so I charged it for 10 mins and load tested battery it checked out good and is not low on electrolight, I tested alternator it shows good also, the third time I scanned the codes with a snapon mt 2500 and have 2 stored codes....P1626-antitheft system fuel enable crkt....V1064-BCM,VID....? I called chevy techn and they told me it was a body control module and have to bring to dealer to have it fixed $250.00 just for the part! and about that much more for labor! I cant afford that as I am currently unemployed. does anyone have any suggestions for me to try? thank you in advance for any help on this.....Marty
