2005 Dodge Ram not getting gas Sign In

My 2005 Dodge ram 1500 with 198,000 miles wouldn’t crank. I switched out the fuel pump relay and it immediately cranked and ran fine. I had been noticing a noise while accelerating for several months. The truck has since died going down the road twice. I trade out a fuel pump relay and it cranks immediately and runs fine. A friend of mine checked and said I have good fuel pressure. Any help is appreciated.

You most likely have burnt contacts in the relay socket from the heavy current draw of the fuel pump. Every time you swap out the relay, the pins make good contact for a while.

You probably should examine the relay socket from the bottom.

If that's the case you are going to have to splice in new wires to the socket.

Thanks Hammertime
I’ll check it out tomorrow afternoon and let you know.

I forgot to mention when I drove the truck before the issue there was a very noticeable whining noise only while giving gas. But the noise stopped when I had the first issue
and hasn’t come back.
