2005 ram 1500 condenser fan won't turn on Sign In

For the last 3 years I have owned a 2005 ram 1500 5.7L.
When I start the engine the condenser fan is not powered.
When I turn the a/c on the condenser fan is still not powered. When I pull the relay out for the condenser fan and stick it back in then the fan turns on but can never be turned off untill the engine turns off. I have replaced the relay and a/c switch.

Anyone know what may be causing this problem?

Don't know if it is related but my abs has never worked and the abs light doesn't come up on the dash to indicate a problem. It isn't burnt out because it lighted up when you put the key in the ignition.

I also have this thing every couple months where I go to start the truck and it has a healthy sounding crank for as long as I hold the key but will not start. When I let go and immediately recrank it starts instantly.

And I have another thing where the truck stalls out frequently for a few weeks and then it doesn't happen again for a while. Don't know if these problems are related so I'm posting all of them. I only really care about the condenser fan problem.

Get all codes read and post the #s.

Pretty sure A/C fan will not come on unless told to by high pressure switch to engine's computer. You said it stay working so must ask if air is blowing cold at what ambient temp and better if you had pressures and know compressor stays engaged or what.

Codes first then go from what that shows,

We are not going to tackle all those problems in one thread if they are not related. You can work on those issues one at a time in separate threads.

As Kev pointed out, the condenser fan is triggered by refrigerant pressure. This is a 3 wire switch, not a simple off/on switch. Your best bet is to use a scan tool to read the actual pressure that the PCM is seeing. If it's not seeing a high enough pressure, it won't turn the fan on.

1)Scan for codes - post all codes. even if CEL is off.
2)Keep relay installed, check AC pressures - if AC inop post just 'static' pressure, or with scanner read AC transducer voltage, do not jump transducer wires!
SWAG - you are low on refrigerant.
>> Your removing relay is setting a cooling fan DTC - PCM logic - if a fan circuit problem default to fans on hi. Should be a code for your removing relay. see #1

5) IMPORTANT ->> Is vehicle STOCK - tell us all aftermarket parts and modifications .

We are NOT going to deal with the other issues in this thread.
It will lead to way too much confusion.
