2006 Ford E350 XLT (12 passenger van), 8 cyl, 5.4L While on vacation, the engine light came on. AutoZone (only thing close) said the code was P0353, Ignition Coil C (3) Malfunction. We replaced the coil and I drove 3 miles when it blew (literally, broke and leaking epoxy) and took the PCM fuse with it. When we replaced the coil, we put the new coil on #4 and the #4 coil on #3. I got 1/2 mile this time when it blew #3 again (and the fuse as well). Replaced the coil AGAIN and this time replaced ALL 8 fuses. Cleared all codes and it seemed fine. Drove 20-ish miles and the engine light came on again. Same code (P0353). Cleared the code and it didn't come back when turned on but we haven't driven it much yet. We have tested continuity in the wires and they check out ok. Is there something we're missing?! I can't imagine there is much more to replace but the computer and that's something I don't want to do. Thoughts?

Repairing electronic problems are not always just changing parts. You could have wiring issues elsewhere. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You are probably going to want to take this one in, it really sounds like you have some wiring problems going on. If you're blowing up coils & taking out fuses then obviously you have a current problem.....somewhere... Unless you have access to a scope & low amp probe and know how to use it, bite the bullet & have it check out by a shop. It would be wise to get a handle on this problem before you spike your PCM.... I agree with HT............
