2007 Endeavor window problem

2007 Endeavor window problem Sign In

2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor AWD, 3.7L, 120k miles. The windows are not opening/closing properly with the master window switch. Sometimes the windows work from the master switch with the driver door closed, other times the windows work with the door open. Sometimes only the driver window works using the master switch, and sometimes only the other windows work. Sometimes the windows don't work with the door open or closed. I installed another master switch and the results are the same. Crazy Does this sound like the wiring from the door to the body? Thanks.

That sounds like a problem usually from a door used a lot or older than this but was frequently the beginning of a break in wire inside insulation of wires that run thru the door jam where they bend. Usually driver's door too so it matches.
Verify by wiggle testing any snorkel in door jam with it open to make it happen or correct. Then if so wire by wire you need to check for continuity just color for color from inside door to inside vehicle and run a new wire of proper automotive grade to splice in.


It can be a pest to expose wires and snake thru wire thru that snorkel. Check if you verify that is the problem if a new harness is practical. Most it's just a wire or two,

With Tom on this one. Thanks for giving us the right info. Just by moving the door, you change to issue the car is having. So time to have the real lack of fun in finding he junk wire.

Think of the wires like a beer can. You can bend it back and forth so many times then it starts to break. Bend it long enough and only a small bit is left. So the multiple strand wire breaks enough strands that it cannot do its job, and its at the pivot point where it breaks. A wiggle test with a multimeter tells the tale.
