2016 Jeep compass 2.4L 75,000mi. Fluids, fuses, battery and throttle have been checked. Went in to limp mode one day, no issues beforehand. Parked and restarted, everything back to normal. Everything ok for a few then limp mode, stop and restart over and over. Now starts in limp mode, the etc, abs, tcs lights are on. There is a loud rapid click for 2 seconds when the key is turned to the on position, then the car starts up but runs rough and in limp mode. Tried resteting the pcm. Battery, oil, plugs, filters, brakes and tires recently replaced. Can't remember code # but was a pcm issues then no code's would show. Greatly appreciate any help resolving this issue. God bless

I wish people wouldn't grab onto terms they hear on the Internet.
There is no definition of "limp mode".

Yes, certain circuits will default to a predetermined setting when certain faults are indicated but there are many different systems and different defaults that can occur.

You need to be a lot more specific with stored code numbers for us to be any help to you. The clicking you refer to sounds like a total power loss. This also could be clearing the computers of any stored codes that are needed to determine what is happening.

What you are calling a "limp mode" is something going into default and you need to identify why system that is.

? Do you know age of the battery in this? It's marked if original could be from 2015 is overdue. That would get you the clicking and confused or no codes should show it's been reset and when.

If the original owner I hope you know when it was done. Failures show in winter (it is still) and from lack of attention along even just 5-6 years. Toss @ about 4 years.

Credible or not AAA, the motor club states 1 in 4 batteries will be replaced each year I think it's possible it's your turn,

That SHOULD rule that out. Just see if any attention was given to battery clamps @ battery. It's a bit new but not if old one failed might have harmed them or area,

A generic code reader may not tell you what you need to know. They don't communicate with all modules and you have already stated you have ABS problems.

You may need a professional level scan tool.
