I was wondering how many circuits would be in an engine wiring harness for an 85 pontiac transam.i recently replaced "everything" under the hood and dont want my new motor goin up in flames due to the jack legging that was doin to the original wiring harness by previous owners. can someone please help me get my baby back on the road?

Your question is like asking how many grains of salt there is in a teaspoon; a whole bunch. LOL All depending on what options, engine, injection system, transmission, alternator size, gauge or light package that came on this vehicle. So you’re going to have to find out what came on this car from the factory, find the individual wiring diagrams that contain these options and go from there. You could start your quest at a dealership with any and all numbers you can find on the car that may identify what this car has or had originally. Sometimes under the back seat or under the carpeting you’ll find the factory build sheet that would be the ideal thing to have; it lists everything that originally went on the thing while being built. Even after finding all of this information, don’t be surprised to still find a few connectors in the harness that don’t seem to fit anywhere. Gm or whoever only made a few different harnesses for all the different models for a certain design of vehicle. So there may very well be unused connectors because your particular vehicle didn’t have this or that option. Dan. Canadian "EH"
