88 celebrity charging system Sign In

Hi
could use more advice
I replaced my battery, then altinator. This seemed to correct the problem I had. The charging light finally went off.
The car ran fine that night. When i went to start it the next day,not only did it fail to start, but now the lights and horn won't work. I checked the fuses under the dash, they're fine.
Is there any fuses under the hood? Or can you suggest what else might be wrong.
All suggestions appreciated
Thanks in advance.

Hi - You could use a voltmeter to see output of system when it's running. It's possible to have either a bad alt or bat also. Constant full discharge can take both out new or used also.

A simple check is to remove the neg bat cable and slowly touch it back with everything OFF. Unplug the possible hood light. If it even has the slightest spark you have a drain somewhere. Some common problems are the glove box and trunk light. It not that easy - hit back and I can take it further for you, Good luck,
